Solidarity in Southern Idaho.

Southern Idaho Democratic Socialists of America (SIDSA) is a volunteer-run, member-led organization working to build solidarity for Southern Idaho. We believe everyday people deserve real power over the decisions that shape our lives, our workplaces, and our communities.

We organize locally to fight for economic, racial, gender, and environmental justice — not as individuals acting alone, but as neighbors standing together

We believe:

  • Everyone deserves housing, healthcare, education, and dignity
  • Democracy should extend beyond the ballot box into our workplaces and communities
  • The economy should serve people, not profit
  • Collective action is how lasting change happens

Our politics are rooted in democratic socialism: a vision of a society where resources are shared, workers have power, and communities care for one another.

What We Do

SIDSA builds power through organizing, education, and mutual aid. Our work includes:

  • Hosting political education and skill-building events
  • Engaging in issue-based campaigns that impact Southern Idaho
  • Practicing mutual aid and community care
  • Building coalitions with aligned organizations and movements

We focus on achievable local action while keeping our eyes on systemic change.

Who We Are

We are workers, parents, students, renters, caregivers, creatives, and community members from across Southern Idaho. Our chapter is multiracial, multigenerational, and inclusive of LGBTQ+ people, and we are committed to building a movement where everyone belongs.

SIDSA is proudly anti-racist, feminist, and pro-worker.

Get Involved

Change doesn’t happen on its own — it happens when people organize together.

Whether you’re new to political organizing or have years of experience, there’s a place for you here. You don’t need to have all the answers — just a willingness to show up, learn, and act in solidarity.

Join us. Come to a meeting. Build something better with your neighbors.
